From race organiser Peter Baxter:
"A very gusty but thankfully dry day saw 60 starters in the race. The numbers were up on last year, in line with other recent hill races.
Moffat Mountain Rescue were out in force but were not required to use their expertise. The course was drier than in previous years, thanks to the recent spell of dry weather. This did not have an appreciable effect on times.
Andrew Wright (race number 54) cruised home in 54:54; synergy at work here? He was followed home by Alan Smith (V40) and Adam Anderson (V40), the later picking up five places on the descent. First lady was Catherine Niblock in 74 minutes, followed closely by V40 Shirley Singh. First V50 was John Robson with John Goldsworthy second. Dougie Milligan, fresh from the Antipodes picked up the V60.
All in all, another excellent race. Many thanks to Lynne and the small Bennets for excellent timekeeping and water distribution.
I am also grateful to John and Ranjit, who have offered to assist in organising next years event - thanks guys!"
